Yes, I worded that badly.  I know that almost all animals can swim.
But even though ferrets can swim, they would not have the endurance to
withstand a storm surge, or to be in any body of water for very long
without drowning.  That's what I was thinking about when I wrote my post.
 
Some of my ferrets love water, too.  I have a little plastic pool I've
let them swim in, on occasion, and I have seen them paddling.  I don't
know why I worded my post they way I did, so I'll claim fatigue.  Thanks
for setting the record straight.
