Ferrets have mourned themselves to death over the loss of a companion.
It is not a good idea to split up a group of ferrets that have lived
together and have bonded closely. If at all possible, I suggest the
3 stay together, however you and your ex can work it out. Gee could
possibly mourn herself to death and I can't imagine that is something
either of you want. I've had a few come into the shelter because
their mates had died and they went off their food and water. They
were brought to me so they would be happy with other ferrets and
after an adjustment period they are - they are still with me today.
Don't let greed, jealousy or human insensitivity be the death of Gee.

Hugs. tle
