A note just arrived asking for donations to the Morris Animal Foundation
for the purpose of funding a USDA approved rabies vaccine for ferrets.
Since we understand that one of the problems about having ferrets in some
states is the lack of an approved vaccine, this may be a major step forward.
The proposed program will require about $50k and nine months - any
contributions received would be set aside in a special ferret rabies
vaccine fund and held until a research proposal is approved - the money
would only be used for actual scientific work rather than going into overhead
(which would be paid by the Morris Foundation).

If you are interested get in touch with the Morris Animal Foundation
(a non profit organization) at:

        45 Inverness Drive East
        Englewood, CO 80112-5480
        (303) 790-2345

the recommended donation is $25, although such groups usually appreciate
anything..
