I am currently living at home with my Folks, and my Dad has a recliner. I
could not & would not ask him to give it up, but we have developed a way to
keep Katie safe from the chair (or is it vise-versa). Katie's play times
are either when I am the only one home, (and I hate the recliner, so don't
use it) or in the evening when Dad is already crashed out in the chair. Dad
is excellent at asking where Katie is before he either gets up or sits down,
after almost 3 years now it's automatic. If I happen to be out of the room
and he doesn't see Katie anywhere, he will get up without *un-reclining* the
chair. And, as Katie has never had a *thing* for the undersides of
furniture, it makes it even less a problem. The most dangerous things in my
house are the dishwasher, because Katie loves to climb inside when it's
open, and the 'fridge, for the same reason (especially with the current
temps up around 98-103!) I can see though, where this would not really work
with Fuzzies that have free run all the time, they would be much more apt to
fall asleep under a chair than a Ferret just out to play for a while. Well,
I'll quit babbling now....... just MHO!!
