Someone said...just got my first distemper shot this year, because the pet
store gave her shots to her last year.... no insult intended here, but are
you SURE they gave her ALL of her shots??? Most stores get ferrets with a
preliminary distemper shot. New ferrets get three shots, a preliminary one
and then a series of two from a vet after you purchase them. No pets stores
I know of vaccinate for rabies. If your ferret did not recieve all three
baby shots, she is NOT protected from distemper and will die if she ever
gets it. If you can't find out whether she had the shots you should go
ahead and give the two shot course to fully vaccinate her, ask the vet.

Regarding reactions: vomitting is not good, next time you get a shot be sure
and tell your vet about this, you should also be prepared to stay 20 -30 min
after the shot in case the ferret gets worse. Sometimes dirreah after shots
is a result to the body being stressed, as is a fever and lethargy. This
should pass in a day or two, watch the ferret closey and call the vet is she
doesn't get better or worsens.

Vaccination questions are frequently asked, so you probably should try
reading the FAQ, directions to it are at the top of the FML.
