Unfortunately I live in the backward state of California and have a desire
to be owned by a ferret. Being a responsible kinda guy, I figured that I
should find a vet in the local area (read: reasonable distance) that would
accommodate the health needs of a ferret and not turn me away because of
the ferret legality thingy here.

Does anyone have suggestions as to how to approach a vet without comming
off as a neo-natzi animal protection inspector trying to make an easy bust
on them? I can understand the Vet's concern over the legal implications of
working on a ferret. Any helpfull advice would be appreciated.
