If a ferret comes down with adv symptoms, there is a 2< years life
expectancy.

If a ferret is exposed to adv, tests positive for antibodies, but never
exhibits any symptoms... the ferret may not get full blown ad. In this
case they can still transmit the disease, can live a full life.
