Digging around houseplants: The room where my ferrets live (the ferretry)
also has the best light in the house - so of course i wanted to keep a lot
of houseplants in there.
 
I've succeeded with some.  We cut hardware cloth to size with a hole for
the stems, & set it across the top of the flower pot.  So the ferrets don't
dig the plants up - but it's only a partial success: because with some
plants, they still want to shred the leaves.  It seems the plants offer
both temptations...
