Hi All!

Well, we got the poor little girl Saturday afternoon. She did have a
homemade cage which was filthy and not much else except a will to live.

We cleaned up the cage and it is quite serviceable. We hung a hammock in
it and gave her a towel and a polar fleece jingleball and a litter box.

She figured out the litterbox quickly and only goes in it. She seemed
impressed to be inside and to have a place to sleep other than on the wire
floor.

She is a fur covered skeleton, but for all her mistreatment, she is very
sweet and lovey. Mike decided to re-name her Samantha Josephine, Sammi Jo
for short. She responds when she hears her name.

Gave the poor little girl a bath, cleaned her ears (yukky!!) and clipped
her nails. She is eating the kitten chow/ferret food mix we feed the boys
and also is getting chicken and rice baby food mixed with nutrical and
vitamins. She must think it tastes pretty good as she smacks her lips as
she eats! She ran about a little Saturday night and seemed even more
lively last night.

She met the boys and is not sure about them at all! I will say that
Robert, who is such a good boy, has been the sweetest to her and she will
put up with him. It is Eddie she is terrified of - of course, he tried to
grab her neck and drag her off, which would terrify me, too! Bonnie, the
Scottie, has decided to be her protector and chased Eddie away from her
last night and then went and nuzzled little Sammi Jo. It was so cute.

So, for now, she is alone in her cage, but can see the boys and has
constant visits from the cat and dogs to check on her. She seems to be
adapting to her new and better lifestyle quite nicely. Will keep you all
posted on how she is doing!

Thank you all for listening and caring. It sure helps!

Bonnie (You boys stop roughing up the baby!)
