Both of my ferrets do this.  I think they just can't decide where they want
to go.  I don't think that they have gas, and would not recommend giving
the fuzzy any medications meant for humans.  They have very different
metabolisms and what was meant to help might end up making them sick.  Just
chalk the behavior up to goofy ferret-ness.
