Someone said the east coast shelters are too close to each other - well,
from Vienna, VA - nearest shelter is Faith Hood in Falls Church, about
30 minutes away. Then there is a shelter in Richmond, about 2.5 hours,
Lisa's in Virginia Beach is about 4 hours away. Then heading north is
Barb Clay which is about 2 hours. Considering the traffic and population
around here, there are not too many shelters in the Northern Virginia
area. People are not always willing to drive hours to adopt a ferret
when the pet store is 15 minutes away.

For a few hours, I helped with the Hagerstown ferrets. They were sweet
animals. Only a few biters. I saw the photographs of the breeder's
chamber of horrors ...

I adopted two wonderful ferrets from Barb :-)
