HI everyone, I'm new to this list. I have a 7 going on 8 ferret, Makita
(who doesn't know what old means) she was sick recently and stopped eating,
on advise from her prev. owner ( who owns and runs a ferret shelter) we
put on a mixture that included honey and olive oil(her 2 fav. treats) now
she believes that this "mash"is now her regular food. She refuses to eat
her kitten chow, which she used to love. She will literally starve herself
to she gets it. That would be fine, but, we are worried that eating this
mash will cause some possible problems w/ her teeth. After all, she isn't
using her teeth to grind it up. And we're afraid that the lose of use
might cause some problems there. But, all in all a side from going grey
(she's a very dark sable) a little you would never think that she's old.
She can command people in the house to do things w/ a look(it doesn't work
on me though:) and she's very active. And I'm considering getting har a
friends before I leave for college. But, I am worried about this, if
anyone has any ideas on how to get her to eat something harder (keeping in
mind that for other reasons she needs to eat some of this mash at least
once a day) please get back to me, privatly or not. Thanks, so much and
I'm glad to be here.
