Greetings!

Someone has been bringing up the boxspring problems. I purchased a tarp
at my local hardware store. I made sure the dimensions of it were enough
to cover the whole thing. I wrapped my mattress as tight as I could, and
secured it to the lumber on the underside using a staple gun (a
ferret-proofer's #1 tool with hardware cloth).

Make sure it is a good tarp, but cheap. They could still be persistent
little buggers and chew through. Try reinforcing the corners with duct
tape. When the problem seems solved, cover the disgusting mess with a
larger coversheet. =)

Now apart from some "crinkle" noises from the tarp, my bed looks normal,
and I don't have to wake up to the sensation of a ferret lying on its back
scratching on the top of the boxspring directly beneath my head. Thank
goodness.

kiss kiss
