You are overloaded at the shelter, why not remove this "drop off cage"
from outside and replace it with a sign that says FULL to capacity.
You can't even get a surrender fee with this "drop off cage" to help
your shelter, you are becoming part of the problem, you are an enabler.
How can you continue to keep taking in ferrets when you struggle daily
with no help, having 82 ferrets with no adoptions in how long? and you
take in more rescues daily.
You need to start saying no, don't accept anymore rescues, and maybe try
listing some of your adoptable ferrets on petfinder.
The inevitable is apparent, you will be NJ next huge rescue, you have
said yourself recently, you are on the verge of closing you doors, Shut
the doors to drops offs, don't go pick up rescues and put a sign up that
you are closed to surrenders.
I am sure your intentions are golden, take the help you were offered from
the SOS, and let them help you get your numbers down, and vaccinate your
ferrets , last I saw, they are willing and able to help, suck up that
help and let it dig the shelter out of the situation it is in, don't post
the dribble you are, spend that time to get your website updated with
pictures and descriptions of ALL the adoptable ferrets, and post the link
everywhere, so you can get some ferrets adopted to loving homes.
Your wife and you are human, there is only 24 hrs in a day, how can you
possibly give the attention that many ferrets need.
Sit down and correspond with the people of SOS, get this ball rolling
before its to late, stop going after the others you dislike or that
aren't able to help, let the ones who can and are able to.
BIG, I hope you allow this to go through, I speak in soft tone , they
need to be told how to handle this since it is so far out of control,
the ferrets need them to get a grip and so does the rest of NJ that will
have to rise to the occasion if they don't soon. [Rejected before it
