Paige is looking into working up a website where people could give their
adrenal cases information when time permits her to do it. That's a great
approach if it proves feasible for her. If something can be done so that a
long survey occurs with a large number of contributors it might be useful
even though it's one dependent on those replying instead of having a
pre-selected group being followed.

Sometimes some lateral thinking is needed. Consider the recent 10 year,
50,000 men bladder cancer study. According to an article I read the
researchers had become interested by hypotheses that the type of fluid
intake might matter (with some places having accused additives from
municipal water supplies). What was found was something the piece said
that they had NOT planned to look for but noticed from the large amount of
data: the type of fluid didn't matter; what mattered was the quantity. Men
who drank larger amounts of fluids had far fewer bladder cancers in the
study. Life's funny but it marvelously lets mistakes often be the most
useful learning opportunities when a person is willing and able to notice.

Anaphalexia (the type of reaction which tends to be the killer of a few
ferrets after vaccinations) happens quite quickly, not three days later.
(Folks, DO stay at the vet's for a half hour after shots just to be on the
safe side.)

I read the Killian post differently from how some others read it. To me,
he was saying that Alicia was pointing out some of the realities of
shelter keeping (low funds, exhaustion, all-nighters to care for ferrets
whose owners just didn't care, etc.), -- NOT that she was in any way
exaggerating. Remember that Bill and Diane have run shelters and that
there are now two ill humans in their household so I expect they know and
respect exhaustion, perhaps are themselves exhausted too much to word
things as well as desired. I HOPE that the way I read it is the way it was
meant.

We used to let Spot have a little Sharps if I was having some, but he liked
it several-hours flat. It's alcohol free beer -- SO soothing if you ever
get a sore throat, though people will think you have been tippling.
