Waiting at the appointed spot, Muldoone knew his next arrival would be a
little girl ferret named Faith.

The music in the wind had begun to change and the sad sweet melody could
be heard dancing softly on the breeze. This song played for each and
every arrival, whispering to their hearts; "you are home wee-one and here
you will rest until you are reunited with your earth family." Muldoone
felt the familiar tingling in his whiskers and he knew another was
coming. The music of the wind danced around him, singing the Ferret
Promise Song, the song told of loss, it told of love and longing, it
sang of the promise that love was eternal, and it sang of the pain of
separation and the sorrow of humans.
The flash of light subsided and then Mully heard the unmistakable sounds
of ferrety feets coming across the planks of the Bridge; the MoonBeam
Express having delivered another ferret whose time on earth had been cut
short.

Mully steps forward to greet the new arrival. "Welcomes to da Wainbow
Bwidge Faith, I be Mr. Muldoone, officialist Bwidge Gweeter." Mully
leans forward offering his nose to the little girl ferret.

Faith sat down and looked all around at her new surroundings and gave out
a long sigh. "I not want to comes here so soon. I gots a nice familee
and now I be here, it not be fair. Can you fixes me and sends me back
pwease? Pwease Mr. Muldoone, I wants to goes back to da nice waddy who
be taking care of me. Dooes odder peoples not want me and dey weave me
in a box. I bees berry scared and den someone bwings da box into dis
pwace where dey habs fishes and puppies and kittens and all sorts of
stuff. My mom sees me in dat pwace and she buy me and bwings me home
wif her. Mr. Muldoone, pwease, fixes me and sends me back to dat nice
wady who gives me a forebber home." Tears were streaming down the
little ferret's face and Muldoone felt her pain deep in his own heart.

"Faith don't cwy, pwease don't cwy Muldoone tells her. A wot of us bees
weally sads when we gets here." Muldoone saw quickly nothing he said
was going to calm the little girl down, she was clearly very upset.
This little girl needed to go and stay with Mz Sunny-Ferret.

Almost as soon as Muldoone had completed that thought, a shimmering light
appeared near the foot of the Rainbow Bridge. Stepping out of that light
was a beautiful ferret named Mz SunnyFerret. Every ferret knew who this
lady was; she was very special to everyone at the Bridge.

Walking towards Muldoone and the new arrival Faith, Mz SunnyFerret was
wearing the sweetest gentle smile. Mz Sunny could calm the fears of any
ferret and over the years she had helped countless ferrets who needed
her.

"Thank yous for coming Mz SunnyFewet Muldoone told her. I tink it be gud
for Faith to stay wif yous for a bit if dat bees okay."

Turning to Faith, Mz Sunny asked the little girl ferret, "Is that
something you think you would like, to come and stay with me for a
while?"

"I not knows you Faith told Mz Sunny, I not knows if I wants to do dat or
not."

"Faith, I am very sorry your time was stolen away from you, explains Mz
Sunny. I am sorry someone dumped you into a box and went off and left
you, I am sorry about the crummy pet shop you ended up in but I am very
happy your mom found you. Faith, Mz Sunny continues, life is not always
easy for us, at times it is very unfair and other times it can be cruel
but there are some very good humans out there and the one who found you
in that pet shop sounds like she was one of the good humans."

"But I wants to go back to dat nice waddy who finds me in da pet shop"
Faith tells Mz Sunny.

"Faith, I am sorry to have to tell you this but you cannot go back, you
must stay here with us, we will be your new family and we will take extra
good care of you. If you would allow me to, I would like for you to come
and stay with me for a little while so I can care for you. You have
bruises on your heart and your little soul is suffering and I would like
very much to doctor your hurts and care for you. Will you let me do
that?" Mz Sunny asks Faith.

"Ok, I guess so Faith tells her. I wike being held and given wots of
kisses. I not get a wot of kisses till dat new waddy finds me." At the
thought of her mom, the last of Faith's resolve crumbles. On the ground
the tiny little ferret girl was sobbing her heart out.

Mz Sunny looked over at Muldoone and he had tears streaming down his
furry face. At the speed of light Mully was down on the ground taking
Faith into his embrace. "Faith don't cwy, pwease don't cwy. You will
habs wots of fewets here to woves you. I know it not be earf-mom-wove
but we will all woves you and I shows you how to go and bisit your mom
at night. Pwease Faith, pwease stop cwying." Muldoone told her.

Looking over to Mz Sunny, she gives a nod to Muldoone and he knew it was
time to take the wee-one to Mz Sunny's bungalow. As gently as gentle
could be, Muldoone scooped Faith up in his arms and he lovingly carried
her in the direction of Mz Sunny's bungalow. Along the way Mully was
reassuring her that she would be loved and cared for just like her
hooman-mom had cared for her.

Arriving at Mz Sunny's bungalow she stepped ahead of Muldoone to open the
door for him. Mz Sunny motioned to an area Muldoone was to put Faith in
and it stole Mully's breath away. It was a beautiful ferret bed made of
shades of the rainbow and fairy dust swirled all around in that area.
Muldoone laid Faith down on the beautiful rainbow-colored bed but she
hardly noticed anything.

Mully looked over to Mz Sunny with tears streaming down his cheeks. Mz
Sunny, cans you helps her? Pwease tells me you can helps her."

Walking over to where Faith lay on the rainbow bed, Mz Sunny kneeled down
beside Faith and she began to stroke the fur of the sad little ferret.
"In answer to your question Muldoone, I think we can help her. She will
remain here with me and I will help heal the bruises on her heart and I
will help her heal the suffering in her soul."

Mz Sunny's face had a very puzzled look on it. On the beautiful
rainbow-colored bedding, she saw gold spots but where could they have
come from she wondered. This bedding was not suppose to have gold spots
on it so how did this happen? Looking up to Muldoone, she asks him,
have you seen these spots on this bedding, this bed was only suppose to
have the colors of the rainbow and nothing else."

Immediately Mully realized where the spots had come from and he hoped he
was not in any trouble. The bed the little ferret Faith was laying on
was so beautiful and so perfect and he was afraid he had ruined it. Mz
Sunny, I uh, I uh, well I uh" was about all Muldoone could manage.

"Muldoone, it is okay, you can tell me what the spots are or how they got
on the bedding, I promise you, you won't get in any trouble" Mz Sunny
told him.

"Uh, uh Mz Sunny, I uh, I tink when I bees talking to Faith, I be cwying
and my tears dwops on her bed."

Mz Sunny looked up at Muldoone with the most beautiful expression on her
face. "Muldoone, you are such a special ferret and I can see why the
Boss picked you to be a greeter."

The spots of gold Mz Sunny saw on Faith's bedding were from Muldoone's
tears, tears of gold he had cried for this wee-one.
