Hi to all.

I am a new member to the list, I have read it for about two weeks now and I
have a little problem. Since 7 weeks I am the proud mommy to Timo, a male,
wildcolour ferret, who is 14 weeks old now. He captured our heart head
over heals and we love him dearly. When he came to live with us, I had a
guest cat who just littered. The first two weeks she remained upstairs
because we have several other cats and a dog. Then she and her kittens
came downstairs and the trouble began. Ofcourse my other cats didn't like
it at all and they decided not to enter the living room as long as that cat
was there. And then there was Timo. He decided that it would be a lot of
fun to have a kitten to play with. He took it by the ear, this al just
happened in seconds, and dragged it out. The mother was looking at me as
if to say:" do something!" she did ofcourse do nothing. There were 5 other
kittens to consider I suppose. No, she was not protective at al. So I
came to the rescue and carefully removed the kitten who was, remember, only
2 weeks old, out of Timo's mouth. He thought that to be very unfair. From
that moment on it was either Timo or the kittens who could walk around
freely. At first it was no problem. Because it is a large litter, it
takes the kittens a bit longer to do everything. ( It is the fifth litter
in my house so I can compare.) But at five and a half weeks they really
started to play outside the bench. (The one Spike the bernese mountain dog
used to be in, but because of his size can no longer.) So now I had to
catch the kittens and lock them up before I could release Timo. Ofcourse I
tried several times if he was changing his behaviour, but no way. It
didn't make a difference if I supervised or not. Now they will be here for
just another week, but I decided to keep one. Well Timo just proved that I
really do have a problem, he just attacked another one. Boy do they
screame. Ofcourse the mother was just watching. I really want to keep
this kitten because last week I lost 2 cats. I miss them a lot. This
kitten helps me to live with their loss. Thanks for all advice. You can
do it private or on the list. B.t.w. I am from the Netherlands, so I am
sorry for the misstakes in the letter.

Beye from Ellie and Timo (Why can't I drag that kitten around mummy? I
like it when he screames!)
