My boy Lucas has been diagnosed as Adrenal. I'm just so upset. I know
it's a common disease in ferrets, but I'm very upset, nevertheless.

The vet also got blood from my other boy, Mateo, because due to his
age (4) and that he seems to be shedding the vet wants to discard the
possibility that he might be adrenal too. I hope he's just shedding
some fur. He has no signs, and he's not loosing that much hair. Mateo
started this light shedding barely last week. Lucas is not bald, but
he has lost a lot of the short hair that grows under the longer outer
coat, and he has that tell-tale pear shape.

My vet says he's not a big fan of surgery and that he'd like to try
melatonin first. So I have to think what to do. On Thursday the blood
panel results will be in and we'll have more details on how advanced
the disease is in Lucas, and if Mateo has it as well.

So I am asking to the moms and dads of adrenal fuzzies, can you share
your experiences with me? Which treatment did you choose and why?

If you can please send a prayer for my babies.

Thanks,
Alicia and the Precious - Matilda, Mateo & Lucas
