We get a big charge out of the color changes a few of our ferrets go
through, especially Muggsie (a mitt). A couple of the sables become more
brown or more gray or more cream in different seasons and different years,
but Muggsie is especially creative. He's had no marking, a star and a
blaze on the top of his head. He has had a rich yellow undercoat, a beige
one and a cream one. He has had more and less of a mask. He is always
multi-colored, but the amounts of grey, brown, yellow, white and cream vary
greatly. And suddenly! One morning I'll pick him up and show Rebecca and
Eric "look what Muggsie did last night!" Maybe it's not really overnight,
but he can change a great deal in a few days. We praise him a lot for his
creativity. This year, after we admired Martin's grey summer coat, Jake
had to grow one too, only fluffier. I think it's fun.

Blessings
Judith
