Well, I am happy to report that my ferrets did great under grandma's care
this weekend and that nobody crawled through my window to take them while I
was gone (lol).

Just wanted to say thank you to all of you who emailed me regarding how you
divide your time when you have over 10 ferrets, it is very reassuring to
see that there are some out there who feel that one-on-one time with an
animal is just as important as group time. It really made me feel good to
see this and the concerns other's expressed over those who become ferret
"collectors" like the one I mentioned in my post. KUDOS to all of you who
are doing such an excellent job!

As you all know, I refer to my ferrets as my kids (I do not have human
children) but I do feel that a human child would not want to always have
"group attention" and that spending one-on-one time away from siblings is
also important. Although animals can't speak english, I feel that they
are just as emotional as humans. Call me crazy, but that is how I feel.

As for Debbie (Sunshine), I missed whatever transpired. I urge Debbie to
continue posting and asking as many questions as she would like. She truly
loves her ferrets and I am sorry if her feelings have been hurt by anyone
on here. June summarized this quite accurately. I am sorry for the loss
of Slinky, that must be very hard. Keep your chin up!

Now Tyson. I do not understand why it is that this is not being
prosecuted? As far as I'm concerned, if a dead pet is found at someone's
home and the pet has suffered from neglect, that is on their property and
they are responsible. Also, didn't Daryl Francis say that they are his
pets? Why is he not being charged? We had an incident here in Washington
State concerning some teenagers that brutally attacked and killed a donkey
at a public farm - they got the book thrown at them (well, not quite enough
punishment to satisfy me, but it did send a message). We have also had
other cruelty and abuse cases here, and they are taken VERY seriously. I
guess in Las Vegas the authorities are more concerned with who is stealing
money, laundering money, etc... and the life of an animal is unimportant to
them. That is the message I am getting out of all of this. SHAME ON THEM.

CJ did a tremendous job and should be commended. Sometimes, regardless of
how hard you try and how much your heart is in the right place, it just
doesn't matter. I know this first hand. CJ should feel good about what
she did, there are some people out there who just would not even bother.
You did so much! Feel proud!

That is all for now.

P.S. I like seeing all the posts from shelters who have ferrets up for
adoption, but can we possibly eliminate the subtle marketing attempts of
certain breeders from the list?
