Hello,
I am new to the ferret scene, but I have learned so much reading this
listserv. We just got our first baby about a month ago. She's only about
4 months old and gorgeous! I always wanted a ferret, but never dreamed
they were as fun as they are. Even my husband (who at first about jumped
over the couch to get away from her!) is hopelessly spoiling her. I can't
wait til Christmas, Brandi got as many gifts practically as my boys did.
My question is though, the other night we put some carpet and lineoleum
down in her cage to keep her comfy (which she seemed to immensely enjoy!)
but now she has developed sneezing and coughing and raspy breathing. She's
still very active and has a very good appetite. Could she be allergic to
the carpet? It was an old piece laying around at work that my boss said
she could have. Would scrubbing it help? I'm not sure if it is this or
if she has a cold. We heat with coal and our house at times get very warm.
The other night I left a ceiling fan on to keep her from getting too warm.
It wasn't directly near her, nor had it cooled off til morning. I worry
about her just like I do a baby. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
