Hi guys, Kim here from Stinky Pete's Ferret Retreat. I just received a
desperate email today from someone that needs to rehome her 3 ferrets.
Here is her email to me and is crossposted with permission. They will
be 2 years old in August so they are still young but need to stay
together. All shelters in Florida are well over capacity so if anyone
is able to help we would appreciate it. I recently lost my job of 16
years so hard times have fallen here as well. If anyone is interested,
please email me and I will put you into contact with Anissa. I do
believe she is willing to help transport.

[Forwarded note:]
Good afternoon. My name is Anissa and I have a huge dilemma at the
moment. A friend some months ago moved out of the country and left in
my care her 3 ferrets (2 females, 1 male, all from the same litter) and
I have been caring for them this whole time without any problems. Now
the problem is I am moving out of state to care for my ailing mother in
about a month and I cannot take the ferrets with me where I am going. I
have already inquired and they will not allow me to have any pets where
she is.

The 3 ferrets are litter box trained, spayed/neutered and have their
distemper shots (all of this was done by my friend when she got them)
but I don't have the paperwork for it, as she didn't get a chance to
find it when she left the country. I had thought about (sadly) giving
them up to the local rescue here, but since I do not have the papers,
they require me to pay $25 for each ferret to get another distemper
shot and I do not have the money to shell out $75 just to give them up.

I am writing as a last ditch effort to try and find a safe home for
my fuzzies, as I feel if I give them away for free on Craigslist or
something like that, someone will just use them as food for a larger
animal. I can bring the hammocks, bed, food bowls, water bottles etc as
well as left over food/litter if necessary. I am just really worried
about where I will have to leave them if I can't find a safe place such
as this. Any information would be greatly appreciated, and I'm keeping
my fingers crossed that you will be able to help me find a safe and
loving home for Max, Marley and Irie.

Thank you so much,
Anissa
