Speaking just for me, I would have a lot of respect for any vet who would
just simply refuse to de-claw a ferret.
 
With regular trimming, damage can be minimized.  Over the past 15 years or
so, I've had a hole or two in the carpets.
 
Little 'bar' would dig at the basement door when I went down there.  He
crossed the bridge in '90 and I want to tell you, if he would come back
and dig it up, I'd gladly buy him some fine Persian rugs.
 
Only now do I fully understand the relative worth of carpet.
