When this bout of major depression really hit me in late 2001, my ferrets
knew something was wrong and they responded by trying to help me feel
better. They refused to let me sit still at the computer; instead, they
badgered me until I got up and played with them (which was more like me
sitting on the floor watching them play than me actually participating in
the play). Those times were the only ones that I felt any kind of relief
from the depression. If I sat on the floor with them, they would -- more
than usual -- climb on me or check on me. They looked at me differently.
They knew. It has made me appreciate their companionship even more than
I did.

Knowing Rocky's connection to Sean and that he's a sensitive ferret, I'd
be pretty certain that Rocky understands that Sean needs him right now
and he's happy to help.
