I've seen a few posts about ferret sand boxes.  Last year we had 16 tons of
topsoil delivered so I filled a small box with dirt and let my two girls go
to town.  They had a blast!!  So I was going to do the same thing this year
unfornuately our soil was loaded with bugs, red ants and black ants.  Not
only do I not want my ferrets playing in that but I don't want it in the
house either.  Oh, plus I have sprayed serious chemicals into it.  Not
ferret friendly.
 
So the stupid sand question.....do ferrets have a 2nd or 3rd eye lid?  I
would be afraid they would get sand in their eyes from burrowing.  I have
had sand and dirt in my eyes and I would take dirt anyday.  Okay I feel
like a total moran for even asking but I have to check with the experts.
 
Oh, one other thing.....to the person who originally posted about the
"bobbing for goldfish"  aren't you sorry. : )
