I think that if we brain storm we can make these work for ferrets and for
us.
 
For so long ferrets were a rare pet and we had to do so much of this
ourselves, but the sheer number of ferrets and public interactions could
work to improve the situation now.
 
We truly are in a Catch 22; if we take up too much of the slack then our
own well meaning actions may hamper more effective tackling of ferret
abusers, so it is time to let stronger forces (gov't and large multi-type
animal shelters) know that our pets and we ourselves no longer fit in the
"unusual" category, and to take the cooperative actions with these forces
that will give them improved protection.
 
If Danee's fine ideas don't appear today (Thursday), then look forward to
studying them tomorrow because they are well worth reading.
