At first, trouble payed no mind to the strange phone call, she went to
see her neighbor, Weezil, watered her garden and talked to slinky. But
when the southern sun was at it's hottest, she sat inside to escape the
heat. Then she remembered. It was so strange, just that one line.
like it was just a fraction of a message meant for someone else. She
couldn't stop thinking about it, it bothered her at every turn. She
loved mysteries, but had never thought she'd be living in one. To escape
from her annoying thoughts, she decided to walk down to the gym, and get
in some gymnastics practice. Some exercise would do her good and take
her mind off of the message. She grabbed her gym bag and raced out the
door. Once she stepped outside, she noted that the sun had cooled a bit,
and decided to take the long way to the gym, through the park behind
Slinky's house. She turned down the path, enjoying the cool shade (was
there such thing as hot shade??)

As she passed by Slinky's house, she heard her talking to their friend,
Bandit. Eavesdropping was a flaw of hers, but then again, it was a flaw
most ferrets had. She stood motionlessly behind a bush and caught slinky
saying "she's the greatest friend."

"who is?" bandit asked

"trouble, of course." Slinky explained "she's a like she's just the kit
next door."

Bandit snickered and added "well she is, the kit next door, I mean."

"ya" said slinky "but she could be a world class gymnast, and she'll
still cancel a practice to hang out with us, and she is fun to be around.
She is the perfect southern ferret, and it's like she doesn't even know.
I don't mean she's never up to tricks, but all ferrets are mischievous
sometimes."

"yeah" bandit agreed "I know what you mean."

Trouble shuddered. It would be awful if they caught her eavesdropping
after saying such nice things about her. She grabbed her bag and headed
down to the gym. She felt much better after an hour of practice, but
that changed when she got home and found another strange message waiting
for her. And this time they had left a number.
