I read your post to my SO who is blind. We had a good laugh over it. The
length of the harness handle alone would be extraordinary, and keeping the
harness on the fuzzy would be a challenge in its own right!
 
Our dog guide (an 80# Doberman) plays tag with our two ferrets. It gives a
new meaning to "chaos", doesn't it?
 
One of our two ferrets is blind from cataracts.  The other seems to watch
out for her.  Her blindness hasn't stopped her thieving...er, *borrowing*
tools.  So far, we've reclaimed a pair of screwdrivers, a wrench, pliers, a
ball-peen hammer and a Braille ruler from behind the couch.  No, I don't
think I want to *know* what she's trying to build.
