Sorry you got chewed a new one Sukie- I think you have lots more pros
than cons.  Besides, you ALWAYS sign off as Sukie (not a vet).
 
As for feeding raw vs: kibble- We had over 400 ferrets go through our
shelter last year.  Next to nil would even consider eating raw.  These
guys are mostlly "imprinted" on kibble.  But, we've been sheltering now
since 1998, and I still have shelter kids that came in 1998.  Like
"Ginger, the ferret in the bucket".  I am currently housing 24 ferrets
between the ages of 6-12 years old.  These guys ALL eat kibble.  I always
keep a mix of blends on hand- ya never know what orange crap cat food
they've been eating- (although I can pretty much identify what they've
been eating by color and smell).  Fat has ALWAYS been my favorite color.
Our shelter kids are 80% fat, fluffy and huge- and they are mostly
ferrets from Marshalls or Path Valley.  I usually feed my fat old farts a
combo of Purina ONE chicken & rice (34% protein) Purina ONE kitten (40%
protein) and Iams kitten (34% protein.) We also mix in Superior Choice,
from The Ferret Store.  All my "Foster"/ Shelter homes feed a bit
differently- I don't mind, as long as the ferret is LOVED and kept
healthy.  I do make duck soup (from a mix of kibbles, etc) and I use
Science Diet AD as well as Gerbers Chicken Baby food.
 
Come on- try to see the GOOD in folks.  Besdes, I already know all ferret
people are weird.  We're working on putting up new pics of our shelter
kids this weekend- We've already got a few pics posted - take a look
