Early mornings at the Rainbow Bridge is such a beautiful place to be.
The sun has just come up and it is painting the sky with beautiful
streaks of pink, golden yellow, and lavender. The birds are singing;
happy to be starting a new day, the flowers are giving up the last of
their dew to the sun, and animals everywhere are beginning to stir.
Muldoone awakens and he begins to stretch and yawn, and yawn, and yawn,
andyawn some more. I don't wanna gets up he thinks to himself but ifs I
don't Nanna be in here yankin my hammy. Dat Nanna, I wike to yank her
hammy sometimes.
Mully makes his way to the Bridge and is surprised to find Nanna waiting
there for him. Uhhh ohhh he thinks, I hopes I'm not wate getting here.
"Mornin' Nanna Muldoone greets his supervisor and puts on his bestest
smile. Nice to see you getting here on time Nanna scolds him, although
not by much Muldoone, another 90 seconds and you would have officially
been late. But I not be wate Nanna, I gots here" and he flashed her
another big handsome smile.
"What bwings you out so earry Nanna, Muldoone asks. Well Muldoone you
willbe doing two greetings this morning. One will be a normal greeting
but I was concerned about the other one so I thought maybe I should come
and supervise his arrival. Our first arrival will be Benny. He suffered
from adrenal disease as so many ferrets do, he was gently and lovingly
sent to the Bridge and he was given the opportunity to pass over in the
loving arms of his caretaker. Our other one coming is Tekoa and his
adapting might be a bit more difficult, he doesn't like being around
other ferrets and I just hope the two of them were not placed on the
same moon beam to ride over on. Just then the breeze began to pick up
and Muldoone recognized the signal. Strand up straight Muldoone, it is
time."
A warm gentle breeze washed over them both and danced through Muldoone's
whiskers. The Welcoming Song began to play swirling around them, its
sound being carried on the wind. The lights in the sky glimmered and
shifted, painting the horizon in the brilliant colors of the rainbow.
The bright blue flash appeared and Muldoone and Nanna waited for it to
subside. Muldoone and Nanna then heard the sound of ferret feet
approaching them from the other side of the well-worn planks of the
Bridge.
Stopping before them to look around was the new arrival Benny. Muldoone
stepped forward to offer his nose in greeting and said to the new fert
"Hewoo, I be Muldoone, officialist junior Gate gweeter. And, gesturing
to Nanna, he told the fuzzy, dis be Nanna, be nice to her or she will get
ya. Benny's eyes got big and round and Muldoone quickly whispered to
him, I fills ya in watter on her. Welcome to the Rainbow Bridge Benny,
and pay no attention to what Muldoone told you, he will get your INTO
TROUBLE if you listen to him" stated Nanna while shooting Muldoone her
best glaring gaze. "Benny, continued Nanna, do you understand why you
are here? Yes mam started Benny, I tinks I do, I be sick for a while and
my mom takes me to gets da forebber shot every ferwet knows about. So
you know where you are and why asksNanna. Yes mam again answered Benny,
I understands. And just wook at my belly, I habs hair on my belly 'gain.
No more bald-headed belly!! I hatedhabing a bald belly, da odder fewets
waffed at me. Yes Benny Nanna spoke soft and lovingly to him, your
health has been restored and you are young again. Here at the Bridge,
we wait to be reunited with our earthly moms and dads." Benny thought
for a good bit before speaking, "I heard dat this be a funs pwace and
would wike to sees more of it. Benny if you tould hang awound for a bit
den I could shows you da wopes said Muldoone, I hab anoddergweeting to
do and den I cans help you. Sure ting Mr. Muldoone Benny answered and I
wants to hear what you say about Nanna.
M U L D O O N E shrieks Nanna, what did you tell him?
Nanna begins to shake her head and says to no one in particular, oh
please someone tell me I don't have another Muldoone in training."
