My 1yr. old F silver mitt had ECE last June. We thought we were going to
lose her. She got so bad that she was bleeding from the rectum and was very
bony. Since then I have been giving her ferivite and she had gained weight.
Periodically since the ECE she would give me yellow mucous stools and then I
would give her kaopectate. For the last four days I have noticed that most
of her stools are yellow mush or watery mucous. She is bony again. Can
ferrets continue to have problems from ECE after they recover? I started
her on duck soup and kao again today. The vet can't see her until tomorrow.

It has been 6 mos since Wiggles had ECE. She was treated with flagyl at the
time. (YUCK). I've always been concerned that she may have suffered
intestinal damage from the ECE. Has anyone had similar ongoing problems?
