Wow!  Who would threaten you?  And on another mail list even!  Perhaps
someone is manipulating you instead.  It has happened to you before when
you were told we were evil.
 
BTW: About the life and death situation with Matan's jill..
 
Aplastic anemia is not going to kill every jill that doesn't get bred.
It seems to be mostly a problem in the US.  The odds in testing as written
in Fox's book is that 50% of unbred jills will get it and die.
 
But many of us breeders here in the US have noticed that if jills are
housed together often they bring each other out of season.
 
Just because it was written on the internet in ferrret forums and repeated
hundreds of times it might not be exactly accurate.
 
Matan, listen to Bev.  She is over there and knows more about your
country's situation.
 
Ferret jills do not need to have babies.  If spayed they will not even
notice that they aren't going into season.  They will lead happier and
healthier lives.
 
Yes happier lives as the reproductive cycle is very hard on jills.

English is more Germanic than Romantic (like latin)  Still very unlike
your Semetic language.

No.  You are not.  We though do hope you reconsider what to do for your
jill.
 
She appears to have an irregularity in her estrus cycle.  It is perhaps
better to not breed those with problems.

It is not a need.  If spayed they will not miss the breeding at all.  It
is driven by hormones that are driven by seasonal cycles (mostly light
based in that they typically go into season soon after the shortest day
of the year)
 
There is a sex drive but controlling it is also a good thing.

Alcohol is something alcoholics are driven to drink but they get to the
point that while their bodies crave it, the alcohol is neither enjoyable
nor good for them.  It is better for an alcoholic to not have the alcohol
their body says they need.

You understand the difference.  But the drive to reproduce can be thwarted
with no damaging effects on the female ferret.
 
Of course she is your jill it is your responsibilty to do for her what
you think is best.  We hope that you reconsider.  We are not opposed to
your breeding ferrets.  Just think you should consider whether breeding
this particular jill is best for ferrets in general.
 
Odd that Diane I are half the total to disagree the allowing of that
horrendous post to go through.  Actually it is embarassing us to be a
part of such a mean spirited group.
