    I hate to sound like a broken record - but I still recommend the
Gerber's second foods Chicken for sick ferrets - even those with ECE.  It's
a highly digestible, low-residue food.  We give it straight to the sick
ones, and as they get better, we start grining up their kibble in a coffe
grinder and slowly adding more and more.  Please - no Ensure - that just
worsens diarrhea.
 
    If a ferret is getting three good meals a day and water with each one, I
don't think you are adding much with Pedialyte except more stress.  The food
will supply all of the electrolytes they need....
