Ask what YOU can do for fuzzies!
Why not take a little of your weekly cola, snack or cigarette (if you smoke)
money and instead, invest in one of the recently published ( and up-to-date)
books on ferrets and donate it to your local community library. I recently
checked my library to see what was available and they had two copies of the
same book, and one of those was the 1988 edition. With their growing
popularity, there is a real need to spread the word of domestic ferrets.
What better way then to donate for example, a copy of Mary Shefferman's "The
Ferret", Gerry Bucsis, et.al.'s "Training your Pet Ferret", and the brand
new "Ferrets!" by Karen Dale Dustman, just to name a few. Most of these
books cost between $7.00 to $18.00 and would be welcomed at your public
library. You could even tape a card or sticker in the book with information
about your local ferret club, shelter or organization.

Maybe you've gotten an extra ferret book as a birthday gift. Donate it to
your library! Don't forget about those ferret videos, too. "Ferrets
Unmasked" would be great for someone in your library to be able to check out
to learn about ferrets.

While you're at it, your county's animal control maybe seeing a growing
number of ferrets. Why not send them a copy of a all-about-domestic-ferrets
book, also! You'd be surprised (or not) how many animal control officers
are afraid of ferrets or how to tell a male from a female. Get them a book
and be sure to leave a phone number for a local ferret shelter or club
inside the front cover of the book.
