The problem you can run into by vaccinating ferrets with dog distemper
vaccines are:
Some dog distemper vaccines are made from ferret cell origin.  This means any
ferret given this modified live vaccine can develop the 100% fatal distemper
disease.  Other vaccines are made of chicken cell origin which would be ok to
give to ferrets.  Fervac-D is the distemper vaccine recommended for ferrets.
If the vaccine you used was made from chicken cell origin you probably don't
have to revaccinate in 3 weeks, but you could to make sure thay are
protected.  It would be best to check with the vaccine manufactor.
One big reason I discourage vaccinating your ferrets at home is because  a
yearly physical exam is so very important to spot diseases early on, before
the disease advances.
