I would like to personally thank Bob C for turning me into a raving,
chicken-hacking, bone-crunching, slop-blending maniac. My ferrets, well,
some of them, now kneel before their bowls of gravy and murmer his name in
a thankful prayer to the Dook Gods.

Last night I worked up the courage to make chicken gravy. I assembled the
ingredients, and started hacking, pounding, grinding (THANKS to Kim at
KiSta for the grinder!!!!) blending, cooking, stirring, sealing, muttering,
cursing, swearing, and hoping I wouldn't wind up with salmonella
poisioning!!

Archie, my 3 pound stray, showed his true chowhound instinct, and was
snatching up bits of raw chicken that somehow ended up stuck to the
cabinets.

My husband kept walking into the kitchen, looking at me with chicken bits
covering me up to my elbows, laughing, and walking back out. He did,
however, help me take the grinder apart 5 times to unclog it.

I bought a 12 quart stock pot and an 8 quart mixing bowl just for gravy
cooking and cooling. For some reason I then cheaped out and decided to
store the gravy in Ziploc bags, which works well, by the way.

Last night, I offered the ferrets the gravy, but it was AFTER they broke
into a bag of Eukanuba Kitten, so the hogs were full. The cats, however,
cleaned the plate.

The verdict is an even split. 6 yes, 6 no. The cats are all unanimous, 5
votes in favor of the goop.

The good news is, I've now made chicken gravy. The bad news is, I have to
do it again in 2 weeks. Dear lord help me!!!

Hope you and yours are well!

Melissa
