I'd like to add another danger with ferrets.  One should ALWAYS check the
length and condition of the nails on all ferts.  Sometimes, a nail looks
like it doesn't need to be clipped yet, but it may have split in the back.
Once its done this, the ferret can get their nail(s) caught in blankets,
upholstery and clothing.  If a fert is VERY unlucky, they will be hidden
somewhere when they get caught.  A fert caught in a blanket in their cage,
can actually become very ill due to hunger or thirst, if not noticed in
time.
