Ruby, the first thing I would do is get him to someone who knows about
ferrets. Second I would stop the gatorade, it has way too much sugar.
Most of us use pedyalite for our sickies. One of mine had a cold(?)
and developed tonsillitis and laryngitis and didn't want to eat. Too
painful for him. He was given clavamox antibiotic, and a triamcinolone
injection for pain and swelling in his throat plus subQ fluids. It took
several days and two injections before he really started to come around
and start eating again. I offered him duck soup for the next few days
which he wouldn't eat. Found out after a couple of tries, that he
doesn't like chicken baby food mixed in his soup, he prefers the
turkey! lol And he likes it slightly warm. (Maybe next time I'll use
Marilyn's technique and serve it in a glass bowl on a mug warmer!) Use
food he is use to. You can crush and soak his kibble in some warm water
or pedylite and then add the baby food and just enough water to make it
soupy but not too runny.

You really can't treat him until you know what's going on. If your
vet isn't ferret knowledgeable perhaps he knows someone who is and
is relatively close by? Don't know if this will help you but thought
I would add my two cents worth of experience.
