Hello everyone,

I am a new ferret owner that has only posted twice. Our ferrets Pasha and
little Yoshi have quickly won our hearts and co-exit under the same root
with our beloved G-Pigs, Cats, Rabbits, Racoon and whatever else shows up
on the doorstep!

Pasha and Yoshi have there own room which is really our room size closet.
They are in a huge condo and come out about 3 hours a day for supervised
play. We thought we had ferret proofed the room quite well. I am so
parinoid I vacuum before letting them out because i am afraid we will drop
something and they will eat it!!!! Well tonight Pasha was down on the
floor war dancing and generally being his sweet silly self and I was
sitting on the couch working with Yoshi on nip-training. I heard a gasping
choking noise and my Pasha was on his back pawing at his mouth and couldn't
breath. I grabbed him and could see he had something in his throat and my
gawd it was a big wad of a plastic dry cleaner bag. I pulled one piece out
and could still see another piece and I literally pry the little guys mouth
open and got another piece out. He kept swallowing real hard but was at
least breathing. By this time I am crying and trying to get him to drink
water. He would drink water but he lapped up some ferretone and ate a
dried cranberry. Within 15 minutes he was wanting to play again with
Yoshi. I was emotionally a wreck! and was still in tears when Steve got
home. By this time Pasha was curled in a ball sound asleep. We could have
lost him and that just breaks my heart. He is just the sweetest little guy
ever. And so kissy! Anyway I just had to tell my story. I never dreamed
he would jump up and tear at the plastic on our clothes. It is all gone
now but I have to wonder what else I haven't thought about. The closet is
huge and most everything is up off the floor and we keep the dresser draws
closed when they are out. We do let then play in our dirty clothes, they
have toys and tubes and boxes.

Sherry, I cried for you when I read the first post about your baby Quinn.
I can imagine the pain is horrific. Be gentle with your self. My thoughts
are with you.

I owe a couple of people on this list letters and I have not forgot you and
promise to answer all this weekend. I found a very sick old crippled cat
on my doorstep Wednesday night that my ferral cat big Jake was about to eat
alive. Jake will not let us touch him but the doorstep at mealtime belongs
to him!!!!!! This poor sick cat doesn't know how close he came to being
history. Anyway the sick cat (Goldie) needs a lot of care. I am spending
hours a day hand feeding him, petting him, and massaging his poor little
body. We don't expect him to live too long but hopefully I can make his
last few days more comfortable and he is in a clean dry warm place.....
our guestroom!!!!!

Sorry this is so long. I hope I don't get barred from the list. I really
enjoy you wonderful people so much.

Regards, Victoria and the Fur Faces Pasha, Yoshi, Mitzi, Mimi, Milo,
Hannah, Josie, Hootsie, Freddie, Jake and poor little Goldie. (Please
Say Prayers for Goldie)
