For what it's worth, recently me and my two ferrets took a vacation out on
the country and Paws, my smaller one, actually *did* stalk a chicken.  I
don't think there's *anything* bad about that; quite the opposite; it made
me proud to see there are *some* instincts left in him.  Of course I did not
let him attack the chicken, but it was very obvious that he was stalking it,
not just wanting to check it out.
 
Anyway, thought I share that.
