I have bedding on every surface in my fuzzy cage.  They refuse to poop
on anything even remotely bedding-like and this works for me.  There are
some shelves in my cage that are narrow and lead from one level to the
next...a standard pillowcase is just the right size to be clipped the the
shelf.  I have small binder clips holding it down so the fuzzies can't
get under it.  There has not been a single accident since I started this.
