The second page shows only a picture of a native skunk, and says it
in the same family as ferrets.  It does not say, or even imply, that
ferrets are native Argentinian carnivores.  It's like a page about
cougars mentioning that they are in the same family as lions.  (Cougars
live in North America; lions don't).
 
There might well be a native weasel, but it's not mentioned on that page,
and a population of native weasels is certainly not the source of the pet
ferrets.
 
Sounds like he knows a bit less about ferrets than he thinks he does.
