Over the last few posts I have seen some problems people are having with
the raw diet. Personaly I have no problem with what people feed their
fuzzies as long as it promotes good heath and wellbeing.

I happened to be snake sitting a while back and Nero refused to eat his
mousesicles that his daddy had left for him. I had no other choice than
to purchase him a live snake snack which he pounced on as soon as I
dropped it in his tank.

My older sister raises rats and mice to feed her reptile collection and
we used to feed dead baby chicks to the foxes and other small carnavours
when I worked at the Jacksonville Zoo. We also fed frozen mice and rats
to the smaller wild cats. We studied that they needed the roughage of
the fur/feathers to aid their digestion.

Here at home we dispatch of small rodents such as squirls and chipmunks
but because of the rabies virus I do not feed these to my fuzzballs. I
have decided that after seeing them eat a whole bird, bones feathers and
all that I'm going to start offering mine frozen mice and rats. This way
they get the meat they need and there is no additional suffering on the
part of the meal.

So now I'll have my guys on the raw diet, they get something furry to
play with and I'm going to put on my leather jacket and go out for a nice
juice steak (rare) so I can lead my guys by example.

Peace
