With all the recent discussions about accidents from weird things/places
(screens, heating vents, etc) I thought I'd just mention something that
happened to my sweet little girl Little Bit. It actually happened last
year, just a day before her adrenal surgery (when she went to the
bridge).

The door to the ferret room has about a 1/2 inch clearance from floor to
door bottom. I never, ever thought that any of my ferrets could fit
under there. I was right, sort of. My husband and I were about 70 miles
from home when we got a frantic call from my then 15 y/o daughter. She
told us that Little Bit had managed to get her head caught under the door
and was having trouble breathing. She was absolutely paniced and nearly
hysterical. We ended up walking her through "how to lift a door with a
crowbar" over the phone while rushing back as fast as we could. Luckly
my son came home in time to help and Little Bit came through with nothing
but a scuff on her neck. We have since put a block on the bottom of the
door so it can't happen again. Lesson learned; if you don't think they
can fit there, you're probably wrong.
