Hi frinds-
It's shelter Mom-

Jerimiah was real busy harassing the Warner kids at play time so I
thought I would give an quick update here.

We have had a very busy September !! We had our annual event which had
a great attendance - and the shelter earned $1750.00 to help pay for a
food delivery , pellets etc. Also some needed vet care for the kids. We
would like to thank The Ferret Education FOundation for a much needed
donation- you will see why we were pleased after the tumultopus year so
far for the shelter. The following kids have had surgeries & medical
treatments galore not to mention AVD testing, rescue transports ( for 3
new faces) and vaccinations!

Curly- adrenal surgery
Skipper- adrenal - insulinoma surgery
Phoenix- adrenal - insulinoma surgery
Chrissy- adrenal - insulinoma surgery
Onyx- spay & tumor removal surgery
Pancho - Neuter surgery
June's Angel - check up & monthly lupron
Skipper - check up BG ( on watch)
Disney - check up awaiting adrenal surgery
Fat Rat- passed away from cancer
Red, Robin, are up to date on vaccinations and had a interview but they
did not quite meet the expectations of the couple who came to meet them-
they are still looking for a home.

Onyx and Pancho recovering form surgeries will be looking for homes
shortly as well. If you have room in your heart & home for a couple of
oldsters Skipper & Skippy would love to be held and cuddled again! There
are just not enough hands to hold everyone everyday at the shelter!

We have updated the web site ( shelter Dad was patient and walked me
through the process- again) with the Ferret Wise fosters and the Ferret
Wise adoptables- I invite you to check out the new faces on the site at
www.ferretwise.org just scroll to the appropriate sections and click!

As you can see we have more than used up the funding which we laboriously
earned in September and it is barely the first week in October. There is
cold weather coming a furnace to be fueled and more food to purchase - SO
please keep in mind the ebay goodies we post .

[Umm... or go to http://pages.ebay.com/search/items/basicsearch.html
and search for ferret wise BIG]

We will try to put together some gift sets etc for your early holiday
shopping! It will help us restock the ferret food, ferretone, and wood
pellets here at the shelter.

While I will be at the shelter for Pumpkin Night Oct 25th and Pumpkin
Festival Oct 26th in Keene, NH , Shelter Dad will be travelling to
Parsippany NJ for the Oktober Ferret Frolic Oct 26th hosted by our
friends at CFO NJ - to meet & greet great ferret friends there. He will
have some nice new bedding designs and Halloween pieces too! Please stop
by to see him! Our next newsletter is scheduled to be mailed the 10th of
November so if you have anything to include please send it along NOW! It
is in the building stage. :) It was certainly a pleasure meeting the
folks who attended the IFC Forum in Niagara Falls, NY - it helped me
build new friends in the ferret community from 2 countries. I look
forward to more meetings and networking for the ferrets!

One last notre- HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE - Dec 7th 2002 at Ferret Wise
Shelter & Annex. Please plan on stopping in for goodies and to visit-
always a nice supply of gift items and holiday cheer- many raffles etc!
More information is available on the calendar page of the website.

Fondly in ferrets,
Alicia at Ferret Wise
