I have 4 ferrets, 3 boys, 1 girl, I have had them for a couple of years
now. I'm am trying to get them to all get along together. The problem I
am having is with my 2 yr. female and my adopted 4 yr. male who are both
quite small in size. As soon as I try to put them together she goes right
for him and he runs like hell for cover. When she gets him, he cries and
tries to get away and I try to let it go for I long as I can stand seeing
it and then intervene. When I call out her name and tell her no while she
is attacking him, sometimes she backs off but most of the time she ignores
me. When the drama finishes without my intervention he hisses at any
ferret that comes near him and goes and hides and he will not play or do
anything. When I pick him up and reassure him he goes limp, does not want
to move and I feel like sh...t! I have been trying for less than a month,
every other day. My concern is that I may be causing him to much stress or
even ulcers. I realize it can take a long time for this to work or it may
not happen at all. How long is reasonable time before I will know it will
work or just cause stress related illnesses in this little passive guy. It
would just be so much easier if I could put all my fuzzbutts together and
have them all out playing with one another, I don't want to give up to
easily either because I have a problem with dealing with these
confrontations. Please any advice would be appreciated.
