Diet posts:
Reminder: The complete compilation of Bob Church's 21 part diet and
nutrition series is available from the server. Some other comments and
questions, as well as follow-up posts are also included.

If you'd like a copy of your own, send email to [log in to unmask]

The subject doeesn't matter, but the text of the email should be the
single line:

SEND DIET POSTS FERRET

Note, this is a very large file -- about 200K (nearly 3700 lines). If your
email system can't handle that large a file, you can ask that it, and
anything else available, be sent in pieces. If you say, for example:

SEND DIET POSTS FERRET SPLIT=25

You'll get 8 pieces of about 25K each. Split=30, 6 pieces of 30K etc.

Shelter list:
Judith white has sent me the latest shelter list. It's too long (over
1000 lines) to send out as part of a regular issue, so it will be sent
out as INDIVIDUAL email sometime this week, or combined with other special
stuff if there is any.

Advertising issue:
Guess it's about time for another advertising issue. Every few months
I send out a special all-advertising issue containing information about
all sorts of ferret products. This is a great source of information.
(It's not a revenue generator -- there is no charge to advertise.)

If you have a ferret related product or products you'd like the world to
know about, please send your text ad to [log in to unmask]
Please keep it to a reasonable length (very roughly 50 lines is a good
approximation -- more if you have lots of stuff).

If you'd like the previous ad issue, either to shop or for examples of
how to word your ad, please ask the server (see above) for FERRETAD 10

Other stuff:
I've received nearly 40 responses to my question asking if more posts
about Black Footed Ferrets would be acceptable on the FML. *ALL* the
responses were positive -- in summary, as long as the posts are not
overwhelming the FML, posts about BFFs are acceptable for the FML on a
space-available basis. On exceptionally busy days, I'll hold any BFF
posts for lighter days.

More other stuff:
We have many new subscribers lately. During the summer many people
unsubscribe because they are travelling or leaving school. That's
certainly been the case here too: since the first of June, 142 people
have unsubscribed, but 129 have been added! Please welcome all the
new subscribers. And for the "newbies": there are subscribers on this
list who've been here for over 10 years! And they're STILL sharing and
learning. The moral: no question is too stupid and no subscriber knows
everything.

More more other stuff:
As promised, I'm continuing to add more back-issues to the the searchable
archives. I expect ALL past FMLs will be available to search well before
the end of the year. Remember, searchable archives at:
http://listserv.cuny.edu/archives/ferret-search.html

Still more more other stuff:
My two fuzzbutt girls continue to dook around, though they are showing
their age. Sophie, a sable, follows me everywhere begging for tickles
and treats. Nellie, an albino, slowly lost her sight and hearing, but
is quite aware of everything going on. BB (Big Boy) had cardiomyopathy
and eventually was released to the Raindow Bridge last fall.

I'm still at CUNY, working on all sorts of things from e-mail on PC's to
tape robots on mainframes. I also do lots of PC and Macintosh support.

I keep thinking of the wonderful time I had meeting so many of you at our
10th Anniversary celebration in Orlando. I'll always treasure that week.
(Hey, I have a few shirts left still -- any takers at $10?) I'm looking
forward to our next celebration.

Thanks to all for your fantastic devotion to helping our ferret friends.

Bill
