That's really sad if people are really getting these as pets. I've seen
one at the zoo in Seattle - they are quite adorable but they're also
nocturnal. Can you imagine bringing a quiet little creature like that
into a household and it not being allowed to sleep during the day like
it's accustomed? Poor little things :(

Sad that these animals are being imported and many dying in the process
because people will pay thousands of dollars for this "special" pet.
Meanwhile there's dogs and cats being euthanized daily at shelters and
ferret shelters overburdened with unwanted ferrets because there's not
enough people wanting to take them in.

I wish people would realize the difference between domestic pets and
wild animals.
