Don't know who told you that ferrets can't be vaccinated for rabies in
TN, but that's a crock if I ever heard one.  I have 3 ferts, live in
Knoxville, Tennessee, and my vet gives my kids their annual Distemper &
Rabies shots without question.  In fact, Mischief & Max just had rabies
shots last Saturday, and are going in for distemper next week.  If a vet
told you this, find another vet.  If somebody else told you, call a
couple of different vets offices and ask.  And get those shots!
