I have a male silver that sucks on any other ferrets ear while they sleep.
We had to remove him from his cagemate because he sucked on her ears so
much that they bled. We now have him with one of the other males and he
sucks on his ears also. We put bitter apple on the ears of the one being
sucked but that only deters him for an hour or so. We have had the two
silvers for almost a year. They were turned over to us after being dumped
in a nearby park and left to fend for themselves. The sucking problem just
started a month or so ago and we are at wits end as to why he is doing
this. He is normal in all other aspects. He eats well, plays well and
is a real lap ferret.

Any suggestions out there in ferret land? Thanks.
